Tony Fulwood Sr., a 53-year-old resident of Dearing, Georgia, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run incident early Sunday morning along Augusta Highway, leaving his family and community in deep shock and mourning.
According to Coroner Paul Johnson, Fulwood was struck in the 3100 block of Augusta Highway under circumstances that remain under active investigation. Authorities reported receiving a 911 call at approximately 4:40 a.m. regarding a body discovered along the roadside. Emergency responders arrived promptly and pronounced Fulwood deceased at 5:11 a.m.
Details surrounding the vehicle and driver involved in the incident have not yet been released.
