Authorities in Colchester, Vermont, have confirmed the death of 20-year-old Logan Buchanan, bringing a heartbreaking conclusion to a search that began after he was reported missing on Friday evening.
According to the Colchester Police Department, officers received a missing person report around 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Shortly thereafter, Buchanan’s truck was discovered in the parking lot of the Malletts Creek Wildlife Management Area, prompting an immediate and coordinated search of the surrounding area.
Multiple agencies joined the effort, including the Vermont State Police, Milton Police, Colchester Technical Rescue, and Vermont Fish and Wildlife. Search teams worked through the night and into Saturday morning, combing the area in hopes of locating the missing individual.
At approximately 11:46 a.m. on Saturday, authorities confirmed that Logan Buchanan had been found deceased within the wildlife management area. Officials have stated that the death is not currently considered suspicious.
