Jeffery McDonald, 59, of Lincoln, Nebraska, has died following a fatal motorcycle crash near the Interstate 80 interchange at NW 48th Street. His passing occurred on Saturday evening, May 2, after a brief law enforcement pursuit that ended in a single-vehicle collision.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the incident began around 7:50 p.m. when a trooper attempted to stop McDonald for speeding on westbound I-80. Authorities report that the motorcyclist did not stop and instead accelerated, initiating a short pursuit that lasted less than three minutes. During that time, investigators say the motorcycle was operated at high speed and in a reckless manner, including weaving through traffic and using the shoulder of the roadway.
