Lee’s Summit High School Lockdown Today - Following Reported Threat Prompts Swift Police Response

The A25 motorway experienced major disruption on Monday following a serious multi-vehicle accident that forced a prolonged closure in the Dunkirk-to-Lille direction near Nieppe. The incident, which occurred in the mid-afternoon, led to extensive congestion and significant delays for thousands of motorists traveling through the region.

According to initial reports, the crash took place at approximately 3:30 p.m. and involved three vehicles: a semi-trailer truck, a large van, and a passenger car. The collision occurred shortly after interchange number 9, near a commercial zone between Nieppe and Erquinghem-Lys. The force of the impact left all three vehicles immobilized across both lanes, effectively blocking the roadway.

Emergency services responded promptly, including officers from the CRS highway police and firefighters from the nearby Armentières station. Their priority was to secure the scene, assist those involved, and assess the extent of the damage. Two individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. No life-threatening injuries were reported.

Due to the positioning of the vehicles and debris scattered across the motorway, authorities were forced to completely close this section of the A25 for more than three hours. Traffic was diverted at interchange 9, where a mandatory exit was implemented.

At the height of the disruption, traffic stretched up to 14 kilometers, reaching as far as Bailleul, while congestion in the opposite direction extended toward Loos due to onlookers slowing down.

Authorities expect investigations into the cause of the crash to continue as normal traffic conditions gradually resume.
