Humphries was a member of Teamsters Local 399, which he joined in October 1996. Through his union work, he spent several years employed as a cook and driver on film and television productions across the United States and Canada.
His work in the entertainment industry included contributions to several notable productions, including Fight Club, Boomerang, Don Juan DeMarco, and Hocus Pocus. In these roles, he worked on set providing food services and transportation support for cast and crew during production schedules.
Colleagues remembered him as a reliable presence on set, known for preparing meals and desserts and maintaining a calm, steady demeanor during long and demanding filming days. He was often described as someone who contributed to a positive working environment through both his work and his interactions with others.
