The Biddeford community is grappling with the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Michael Petersen, 52, who died following a tragic head-on crash Friday morning in nearby Saco.
According to authorities, the collision occurred at approximately 6:51 a.m. on Portland Road. Preliminary reports indicate that Petersen was operating a motorcycle when he crossed the center line while attempting to pass a tractor-trailer that was turning into a local business. In doing so, his motorcycle entered the path of an oncoming SUV, resulting in a violent head-on impact.
