Amber Moore, a 31-year-old resident of Mt. Morris, tragically lost her life Monday evening following a motorcycle crash along Gera Road near Lange Road in Birch Run Township. The fatal collision, which occurred just south of Frankenmuth, is currently under active investigation by the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office.
According to authorities, the incident took place at approximately 8:10 p.m. when Moore, operating a 2017 Yamaha R6 motorcycle, was traveling southbound on Gera Road. A 2019 GMC Terrain, driven by a 62-year-old woman from Arkansas, was also heading in the same direction ahead of her. For reasons still under investigation, Moore’s motorcycle collided with the SUV, resulting in a catastrophic impact that ejected her from the bike.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after multiple reports of the crash. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Moore was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the collision. The occupants of the GMC Terrain, including the driver and her husband, were not seriously injured and cooperated with authorities.
Investigators are examining several factors, including speed, driver awareness, road conditions, and the possibility of mechanical issues. Toxicology results are pending as part of standard procedure. Officials have stated that no charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
