Four people have been hospitalized after a drive-by shooting in London during the early hours of Saturday, raising serious concerns about public safety in the Brixton area.

According to the Metropolitan Police, officers were dispatched to Coldharbour Lane at approximately 01:15 BST following reports of multiple gunshots fired from a moving vehicle. Emergency responders arrived within minutes and discovered four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

A 25-year-old man remains in life-threatening condition, while three others—aged 21, 47, and 70—sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening. The London Ambulance Service confirmed that all four victims were treated at the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals, with two taken to a major trauma center.

Authorities conducted extensive searches near Southwyk House later that day, and a section of Coldharbour Lane remained cordoned off as investigators worked to gather evidence. Road closures are expected to continue into Sunday as forensic teams process the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation, described the incident as an “act of indiscriminate violence,” emphasizing the seriousness of the attack and its impact on the local community. Police have increased patrols in the area to reassure residents and deter further incidents.

As of now, no arrests have been made. Investigators are appealing to the public for information, urging anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has relevant footage to come forward.

This incident adds to growing concerns about gun-related violence in urban areas, with authorities under pressure to identify those responsible and prevent further harm.
